Good evening everyone!
The reading for Wednesday focused on 1 Samuel 3:5-7 and asked us to remember a time when God revealed Himself to us and spoke to our hearts. Thursday's reading focused on 1 Samuel 3:8-9 and asked where we go to get advice from spiritually mature people.
Life is funny. There have been times when, like Samuel, I heard God's voice, but because I wasn't listening for Him, I went running off in the wrong direction before I got all the details. Thank God for the spiritually mature people in my life who, like Eli, stopped me and said, "No, that's God speaking. Stop, go back and listen to Him. See what He wants and then start going and doing."
How incredible would it be to have the spiritual maturity to say as Samuel did, "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening." Do I really think of myself as God's servant? All too often, I think of God as my servant, there to meet whatever need I currently have.
It's been really incredible to experience God speaking to me through this lesson. As I've gone deeper into the verses and lessons, I've begun spending more time more frequently with Him. My prayer and hope is that with God's help, I, too, will be able to say, "Speak Lord, for your servant is listening." And you know what? I hope that when God speaks, He will so strengthen my will and spirit that instead of shrinking from that contact, I will welcome and embrace it. Praise God! He is constantly at work in me, completing that work which he has begun and is faithful to complete.
Blessings to you all!

You are so right...we all need spiritually mature people we can seek wisdom and advice from. It is so important because like Erin said God uses others sometimes to speak to us and we need to be willing to hear His voice through them. I encourage everyone to find friends who you can seek counsel and Godly wisdom from...See you all Sunday!
I am so thankful and blessed to say that many of you from our class are the ones that I go to. Whether you know it or not, the Lord uses you to reign me in to Him when I want to go my own way.
